DIN345 Morse Taper shank HSS twist Drill Bit

hss twist drill bit

Product Details

Technical Data

  1. Material & Process: Made of HSS like 4241, 4341, M2, or M35 (with 5% cobalt). It adopts roll forging (6 – 33mm) or milling (31 – 100mm) processes.
  2. Dimensions: Drilling diameter ranges 6 – 100mm. Morse taper shanks are No.1–No.6. For example, 6mm drill has No.1 shank; 50mm drill has No.4 shank; 51mm+ drills use No.5–6 shanks.
  3. Other Specs: Point angles are 118° or 135°. Surfaces have white, black oxide, or titanium coating. It uses right-hand cutting and complies with DIN345, with precise spiral flutes.

Advantages

  1. The taper shank enables tight spindle clamping, ensuring stable power transmission and no slipping during high-torque drilling.
  2. Forged/milled HSS and optional cobalt enhance wear/heat resistance, enduring high temperatures and having a longer life than non-forged bits.
  3. 118°/135° points realize self-centering, avoiding deviation without pre-punching. Spiral flutes efficiently expel chips to reduce clogging and friction.
  4. Easy to install/remove on matching equipment, no extra clamps needed. Multiple surface finishes adapt to different materials and reduce wear.

Areas of Application

  1. Metalworking: Ideal for mild steel, alloy steel, gray cast iron, aluminum, and zinc alloy. M35 variants handle hard metals like stainless steel.
  2. Industrial Manufacturing: Used in CNC machining centers and workshops for large-diameter/deep-hole drilling of machine parts.
  3. General Processing: Suitable for drilling wood and plastic. Bright finishes boost chip flow for soft materials like aluminum.
  4. Equipment Maintenance: Applied to repair lathes, engines, and transmission components, meeting heavy-duty drilling needs in machinery maintenance scenarios.
